recording has begun!
On Sunday, April 22, 2012, Clever Girl began recording. I am super excited about this! The best part about this whole project is that we can take as much time as we want. There is no rush to get these songs out there, no deadlines. It just feels super comfortable and freeing, in a way. I actually really like recording and wish i could do it more often. Of course, there are times I get really frustrated, but who doesn’t! Making music will always be a passion of mine and I cant wait to get these tunes out there!

It’s been awhile since our last post. We’ve been slacking. Well, that’s not completely true. We did learn some songs Marty had recorded a long while ago. We are going to use some of those for this project, but today we went down into the basement and wound up writing 5 brand new songs! I’m really into them, and they are really fun to play. We just have the music right now, got to work on the lyrics and vocal melodies. I don’t think it will take to long. We demoed them on my iPhone (which came out pretty well actually). We may record them tomorrow. In any case, you can look forward to a Clever Girl EP coming your way in the near future! Really excited to start this recording project and see where the wind takes us. Until then, later skaters!

Introduction
It all began in a house on Louis Street in New Brunswick, NJ in February of 2011. Marty was playing around on the guitar (like usual), busting out Get Up Kids and Saves the Day covers, and I was singing along to them. We started talking about the possibility of starting a recording project, and if all went well, maybe turn it into a band. Marty had written some songs for us, and I did too. We would go downstairs into the basement and try to work them out for a couple hours. We both got really busy and kinda put the band on the back burner. It was always still in the back of our minds, just had to find the time to get on with it. So finally, a couple days ago we decided it was time to actually start doing something, and Clever Girl was born.
We hope to start writing songs in the next several weeks and recording a demo. Until then you will just have to read my long-winded updates on our progress. :)
